I`m toying with the idea of buying a Makita soon, but for now, only have a PC. I`m looking at maybe detailing a navy Durango for a friend of mine. It`s got some significant swirling. I`m wondering who has experience with this paint. Is it soft enough to tackle with a PC? I have pads as aggressive as LC Yellow and Megs Burgandy.

    Thoughts?

Sounds good. Yeah I have LC Yellow, Orange, White, Black.. Megs Burgandy and Yellow. Judas I hate the LC White. Lol. Talk about shaking and skipping.

Ok.. sounds good, I guess I may try to do it then. It`s pretty swirled up but I guess I can always step up to LC Yellow or Megs Burgandy. The most aggressive polish I currently use is DACP or SSR2.5. I HAVE the OLD 3m Extra Cut - works great but full of silica dust and gets everywhere. I have some Optimum Hyper Compound but idk where I even got it from and I`ve never used it!

I dont know if you are going to do the newer or older durango but here are a few pics of my older durango in the same color you are working with.

I wasnt planning on posting these pics so there are no full sun shots, glamour shots, whatever.

    My Process with UDM:

    Wash

    Clay

Sonus SFX2 with 5.5 yellow pad (steped up from orange)

Sonus SFX1 with 5.5 white polishing pad

    DWG by hand

    KSG by hand

This was my first time trying the Sonus Products.

I have tos of experience with Dodge paint. Not a problem with a PC. Nice paint to work with.

    Cleans up nicely.

Sweet sweet sweet. Yeah, and it`s the newer model Durango - not sure what year specifically.

I did a bright blue Durango for a co-worker. I used the 5.5" low profile orange LC pad with Menzerna IP, then went over it with Megs 21, turned out great. Like Toyota Guy said, get some 5.5" pads. I love the orange and white.
