I have heard in the past that sanding with 800 grit on a DA is like using 3000-4000 on a block by hand... Is this really true? I have done tons of Wetsanding but only by hand, Ive never used my Pnuematic DA for wetsanding.

So is this true that using 800 wet or dry on a DA is like using 3000-4000 wet by hand?

    Thanks,

    No.

It’s not an exact thing; there are many variables involved. But DA sanding with #2000 is roughly similar to hand sanding with #2500 to #3000 or so.

You’re in for a treat. Wetsanding with a DA is soooooo much easier than by hand and way easier to buff out.
