The hood of my car has a thick insulation blanket attached to it on the inside. What do people do with that when you`re detailing an engine bay? Do you clean it somehow? Do you leave it alone and just clean the little bit of the interior hood that`s exposed?

    Thanks!

Any good APC with a pressure washer should go a long way to cleaning things up. Maybe agitate with a soft-medium bristle brush if necessary. Any exposed painted surfaces get treated the same as the rest of the paint.

Yow! Be careful with a pressure washer on that blanket...if you tear the surface you will be unhappy.

I would be REALLY careful you did`nt damage your hood sound proofing,I would test a small area first,I probably would just use a low pressure hose, APC and a soft brush,if all else fails I`ve resprayed hood insulation black before with a rattle can.

I take mine off and lay it on the ground. Spray it down with some good APC, let it soak, then spray it out really good and let it dry.

I would NOT use a pressure washer or brush of any kinda. They are kinda delicate so be careful when trying to pick it up when its soaked with water too.
