    Hi everyone!

I`m a newbie here. I`ve always owned nice cars but was satisifed with a soft cloth wash and Mcguire`s products. I`ve recently purchased a new 08 Lexus IS and decided to take a more hands on approach to detailing after some advice from a buddy of mine. Here is what I bought over the past day or two:

    Porter Cable 7454 polisher

    Sonus 1

    Sonus 2

    Sonus 3

    Zaino for light color cars.

    Sonus tire dressing.

    Yellow pad for Sonus 1

    White pad for Sonus 2

    Red pad for Sonus 3

    Red pad for Zaino

    Microfiber wash mits.

    Microfiber detail cloths

    Microfiber drying towels

Do I need any other waxes? Do I need carnauba wax too such as P21? If so, in what order do I put that on?

Any advice from you guys for interior leather cleaners and etc. would also be appreciated.

While I don`t use Zaino (or Sonu either for that matter), IMO no, you don`t need to put a carnauba over your sealant. I just use a sealant or a wax by itself. If you don`t top the sealant you can just put more on later, something you can`t do once it has wax on top of it.

If you decide to put wax on top anyhow, the Zaino goes on first (after you polish) and the wax goes on last.

I clean my leather with Griot`s Interior Cleaner.

    Welcome aboard!

Best advice I can give is to hang out here a lot, and read, read, read.

When it comes to the results, technique is responsible for 95%, with product only being the last 5%.

You`ve picked out a decent list of products. An all-purpose interior cleaner for the interior (I also like Griots) would be useful - but other than that, the best advice is to make certain that you are washing correctly, and then polishing correctly.

    Then wander around.
