    hello all,

So far i`ve only detailed 3 cars under my belt. My nissan Frontier, a chevy avalanche, and a toyota matrix. my truck is the only one that is black.

Now this rx8 is my buddies. it is black as well. he has owned it for about 3-4 months now and what i basically need to know is when i use the prima swirl ( swirl removal product) to get rid of his massive amounts of swirls, with that also get rid of his ghosting / haziness all over the driver and pass side of his car.

Im not sure what the proper term is, but it basically looks like someone hand wax`d the car and didn`t take the wax off. make sense? will the swirl removal be enough to get rid of that? I dont have alot of products. the swirl removal and the liquid wax from prima are the only paint products i have. i also have scratch X, but as far as swirl / hazing removal, its all i got.

if im not making sense to anyone, please let me know. If its perfectly clear, then some insight would greatly be appreciated.

also, is simple green acceptable for wheel wells and engine cleansing? all i`ve got is armorall right now but as far as a cleaning product. im in the dark.

    Thanks.

Simple Green diluted 5 to 10:1 works for cleaning the fender wells.

I have no idea about the prima swirl, though. If it`s got that bade of hazing and swirls, you`re better off waiting until you get the proper products for the job (such as some good Menzerna, Duragloss, whatever is not an over the counter type "polish").

I am using LC pads. I have white, orange, and black pads.

    BuffMe,

thanks for the simple green sugestion. As far as Prima goes. Its not ur average OTC product. can only buy it online or through certain dealers. im pretty sure the scratch X wasn`t gonna work either.

    heres some info on it:

Making a judgment purely on reading that page of info about it, you may need something stronger. I don`t like how it says "This characteristic allows you, in most cases, to polish your vehicle to a bright luster in a single step." I`m just not sure someone can truthfully make a statement like that, given the extremely varied conditions of cars. If I had to make a guess as to its but, it would be a medium to lighter cut polish and you will most likely need something with a deeper cut and that orange pad to get all of that stuff out.

Again, though, without seeing the car and having experience this Prima polish, I can`t make that qualified of a judgment.
