I`ve been using the Grout Sponge constantly for 3 weeks now and have noticed no new swirls or marring. When I used my Meguiars Chenille Mitt I`d have marring every wash that I`d take out with Poli-Seal. Since using the Grout Sponge I haven`t even pulled out anything.

I was hesitant in the beginning, but am now definatly comfortable applying pressure and using the grout sponge.

When people ask me what I use I explain to them I use a grout sponge, and everyone gets the *** look.

    A+ for Grout Sponge.

I used to get those looks. Glad it worked for you.

I hear complaints about not being able to get them into nooks/crannies but I don`t have any problem doing just that with the softer sponges as they compress pretty easily.

Do Lotus` have soft clear coats?

I`m going to give the GS a try today, assuming I can find one at HD. Trying it on a DD. Why do I think my daughter will drop it on the ground and use it. Lecture time.

Honestly I am not sure if the clear coat on the Lotus would be considered soft. My guess would be yes. And again, to be clear, I have not said that I noticed any marring with the GS! It just doesn`t "feel" right to me, and I just get the "feeling" that it might mar the finish as it feels somewhat hard and flat compared to the soft LW mitt that I use.

    Totally subjective.

Looking forward to hearing what you think after trying it on your (very cool) car!

Trying it on the LS600hL first. I`m pretty conservative with the toy. If I`m not perfectly comfortable with a product, I test it out first on the daily drivers.

Just idle curiosity regarding the Exige. Often thought about it for a track car. Nothing more sinister.

That`s really where it shines: on the track!

It`ll knock the fillings out of your teeth driving around town though.

For me the real GS test will be winter grime ONR washes. I have 4 layers of UPGP on my 4 Runner and the GS was just sliding over the surface. I plan to UPGP my BMW next week. I have the week off between jobs:woot2: :woot2:

Since I have a new bottle of ONR, I really am going to try the sponges. Sounds too good to pass up.

Try a test with the grout sponge(Superiorbilt) and Lambwools mitt you use and post on here why either one give less marring or someone else try this. I see alot of people doing comparison test on here. Try it.

I bought the QEP sponge from Home Depot a few days ago.

Last week I used ONR for the fist time with a Chenille mitt. I have to say, ONR is simply amazing! My car was gleaming way more than it did after a conventinal wash (Meguire`s gold class shampoo). It actually looked like it was waxed. Can`t wait to try the grout sponge with it this weekend!

Hopefully this will answer a couple questions that I got in PM`s as well.

I don`t recall what brand the packaged sponges I purchased were. I have *never* bought a single packaged sponge. My *goto* sponge is the loose Superiorbilt sponge. I guess you could say that that is my reference sponge and where my love and comments come from.
