Hi there, I got a customer who will come in with Volks Time Attack Wheels. I am told not to use any harsh auto wash for these type of rims. Can i use the P21S gel wheel cleaner? and wash off without harming its finish? I know these are track wheels that is why they require special attention but not too sure if the P21S cleaner will do more harm than good. Any advice? Should i just wash with water and wipe off?

I`ve never heard of Volks Time Attack wheels, but then again I don`t keep up to date with a lot of things. I have a feeling you`re referring to either TE37 or CE28, which are popular wheels for street/track use. There is a magnesium version that I`m not familiar about, but from my understanding the rest of the line are all clear-coated, including the lip of the wheel.

I have Volk Racing LE28N, and for the past 4-5 years have used numerous "safe for all wheels" type of wheel cleaners and they are still fine. I haven`t tried anything strong like Wheel Brightener or anything like that. P21S wheel gel is supposedly one of the safer, yet more effective product you can use.

But like steveo3002 mentioned, if you`re unsure or don`t want to take the chance, just use regular car wash soap.

anything without acid should be fine as long as you do not spray on a hot wheel, watch the dwell time, and do not let dry on the wheel
