Hi all, someone from another board referred me here and it looks like a great forum. I did a search on my issue but couldn`t find any previous posts.

Long story short, we were in the field for a month and out of boredom, began drawing in the dust that accumulated on the cars. When we got back, the cars washed up fine, except for my friend`s black Civic - the writing seemed to have scratched the clear coat because you can still see the writing in the right light.

Are there any DIY methods that can fix it? Or would it be more efficient to just take it to the detailer and have it fixed correctly instead of spending my time trial-and-error`ing? And what should I ask for from the detailer (wax? buffing?)?

Here`s a picture. It`s really hard to see but you can make out a three letter word and a smudge above it where the dust was brushed around. There`s patches of this type around the body. Thanks for any suggestions!
