Are there some Compounds and Final Polishes that dont have very long work times? I read up on Optimum Compound that it had a fairly long work time.

I don`t think OC has that long a work time at all. With a PC it`s maybe 3 minutes a 2x2 panel.

With my Makita it breaks down in seconds.

I need another Rotary. I had one but had to sell it when I moved into my new house. 3 minutes isnt to bad. the reviews on autogeek made it sound like it was forever.

Any polish will have a shorter work time in comparison to Optimum. But most still have an adequate work time when used via a random orbital. It`s when you take a PC-designed polish and run it with a rotary that you`ll get problems.

The old 3M PI-III stuff had a nice short work time IMO. Perhaps I`m just used to it, but it always seemed just right to me whether working by hand, PC/Cyclo, or rotary.
