CG`s 1500 & Pro Polish not working, probably my fault *PICS*

Over the weekend I attempted for the first time to polish one of my cars using a PC. I`ve been spending a lot of time over at Chemical Guys talking to them about my situation. They recommended 1500 compound and Pro Polish.



First I used the CG`s Pro Polish to see if it was strong enough to remove the swirls. No luck. I decided to use the 1500 compund, applied it to my Edge orange pad and began working it. After working it in I noticed it was drying out but I still continued to work it in. I wiped it off and I still noticed the swirls. They weren`t as deep looking but they were still there. I didn`t even bother with the Pro Polish.





These were taken before polishing. By looking at these photos do you guys think I need a more aggressive polish or do I need to change my technique?















How big of an area do you guys recommend polishing at a time? First I polished a quarter of the hood and the second time I polish half of the hood. Like I said, I noticed it was drying out. Someone suggested I use some QD to keep it wet.



I think this combination should be strong enough to handle the job since it`s mostly swirls I`m dealing with. Iv`e read good things about these two products working together.



Any suggestions?

Here`s what I would say. Keep in mind, I`m no pro, and have my own issues:





- From the before`s, I would not say that you need to go to 1500.

- Did you ask them how long to work the section? I work till it dries out almost disappears/dusts.

- You might have to go Yellow pad, then orange, then white...



Let`s see what others say.

Unfortunately I didn`t ask them how long I need to work each section. I just thought I`d apply the polish, work it and all my swirls and troubles would disapear. I should`ve driven this car when I went to their shop so they can check it out.
