Hey, Just joined the site recently and have been doing a lot of reading. I think I`m ready to order my detailing set. I will be working on a black cobra mustang that has excellent paint. The car is not a daily driver. It only has micro marring from care or at least I never found anything else on the car.. I assume its the typical black paint swirls.

    PC 7424

    5" Flexible back plate

    LC Gray and Blue pads

    BCS

    FPII

    RMG

    AIO

    P21S

    Sonus Carnauba Spritz

Sonus Vision Glass & Plastic Cleaner

    Sonus Trim & Motor Kote

I was thinking of using a gray pad for the FPII and blue pads for the glaze and waxes. Will this be enough to remove micro marring or should I get some IP too? Are there any other in between wax sprays that you recommend?

    Thanks!

I`m not sure what BCS is but if you follow the RMG with AIO you will remove some of the "glaze" although you may get some advantage from using the RMG anyway. I don`t think you will be able to remove your defects without a white pad, but you may have to follow up with the gray or blue pads to remove artifacts from the prior polishing or optimize your finish. In regard to your IP question, unless your defects are really minor, you will likely need something in that class to get them out.

Maybe I`ll try AIO then RMG. I`ll order some IP and a white pad too in case FPII isn`t enough. The scratches are very minor. You can only see the swirling if you try to look for them under sun light.
