Absolute complete novice at detailing and up until finding this website about 2 weeks ago i was still using a sponge to wash the car
Anyway those days are behind me now and although currently on a strict budget (wife and kids lol) i`m starting to build up a small collection of bits and bobs. I have my eye on a PC type polisher (PC`s are pretty hard to find here and also a pain since they are 110v and of course we are 240v so i`d need a transformer as well).
My car is a `99 V6 3.0l Peugeot 406 Coupe which i brought in October last year. Unfortunately the previous owner was even worse than i was with looking after it and the paintwork has certainly seen better days. Swirling is fairly minor though and since its light metallic blue they are pretty hard to spot. I do have lots and lots of small scratches and door knocks which i`m going to tackle (after reading the excellent guides on here) but the front bumper is probably going to need a respray. I`ll post some pics up of it soon to get some advice and to see if its repairable.
The pic below is probably the first "proper" wash the car has seen in a long while but i walked away from it knowing that there are still hours and hours of work needed to get it to the standard this incredible site sets.
Wish me luck!
