I attempted to do a search on here, and google as well and have pretty much found no clear way to do this. Does anyone know of any highly detailed How To`s on how to polish metal?

I`m looking at polishing my intake manifold, throttle body, egr spacer, a/c compressor, power steering and alternator brackets, basically anything metal under my hood that I can make pretty.

    Any direction is greatly appreciated.

What about hand tools? Dremel maybe? A highly detailed, step by step DIY page would be awesome.

I polished my upper intake manifold with sand paper, started at a very course grit and worked my way down to 1500 grit. I also used a dremel for tight spaces. Looks like chrome now.

Nobody taught me and i didnt have any DIY references. I just used common sense.

Will you be removing the parts from the car? Also do you have access to a stand mounted buffer? If you do check out Caswell Plating. I use their polishing compounds with successful results.
