Wasn`t too hot yesterday so I decided to clay the car, but it was sunny. Thought I would finish in time before the lube dried up but I was wrong. Left lots of spots and ugly streaks. Lesson learned, time to do it in the garage or in the shade. I did a 50/50 IBA and water wipe down but still streaks and spots left. :sign

My first claying I did was in the sun and I had no problems at all. Rinsed it down and pulled it into the garage and put some NXT liquid on it. Turned out great, the next day I QD it and put some S100 on top.

*shrug* I nearly always do it while washing. Using a slick soap will make the clay just glide across the paint.

Were you doing the clay a section at a time, or the whole car at once? I had problems the first time I used clay, I use lots of speed shine now or another qick detailer.

Do one panel at a time and wipe it off with a quick detailer. I never do the entire car before trying to wipe it off.

Sounds like you clayed the whole car without wipeing off the QD as you went.

Then when you got to the last panel you then decided to wipe off the QD, of course by then its dried on your paint.
