Hey guys I`ll be doing a complete detail on my mom`s car tomorrow. It has some light swirls, scratches and sanding marks (not too deep) that the previous owner put in. This is what I got on mind, please critic my process at will.

Wash with Meg`s Deep Crystal wash

    clay with clay magic

    SSR 2.5

    IP

Carbrite perfect cut, meg`s step 2, mother`s power polish,3m foam glaze (which one will be better)

    Duragloss 105

    Collinite 845

ALL products will be applied by pc

    I would:

    Wash

    Clay

    Rinse

Dont go straight to 2.5, start out with least powerful combo first that cuts.

    Then go to 2.5.

Wipe off the 2.5 dust, or rinse/dry

Id go with Megs #3 Machine Glaze or possibly Blackfire finishing polish

DG Bonding Agent, do whole car, let sit till haze, buff off.

Apply DG 105 x2 atleast, one layer just doesnt look the same as 2-3

    Apply DG AW on top.

No need for collinite.. DG 105 is very durable as it is. Rain bounces off my car when Im driving down the road with 105+AW on. FOr 3 months its been solid protection.

dtailmycar- Not familiar with most of your products, but I don`t think the Meg`s Step #2 (or the Meg`s #3 Machine Glaze that martinager mentioned) is what you`ll want after your aggressive polishing- those Meg`s products are both nonabrasive and you`ll want something with a little corrective ability, like the Power Polish.

    Hey there,

SSR 2.5 is simular to Menzerna`s IP. In terms of cut, they`re almost equivalent, or at least you can say their cut is `simular`. So with the above info, go with either one-- the one that you like most, weather dependent. (My IP works like crap in humidity/sun, SSR2.5 is said to work in sunlight.)

You would want to follow up the SSR2.5 or IP with something equivalent to the following:

    SSR 1.0

    Menzerna FPII

I`m not familiar with the Meg products, but from the lines that you`ve posted, the recommended prodcuts would be one step down in terms of aggressiveness, and finish out quite nicely. (FPII is my favourite)

    So modified process would be:

    Wash

    Clay

    SSR2.5 or IP

Some sort of finishing polish (simular to SSR1, FPII)

    Your DG

    Your collinite

Also, I have been advised to not use Collinite to top off a sealant, as that will inadvertatly affect 845`s durability. Personally, I would lay on 2x 845, then top with a spray sealant such as Aquawax, and use that to maintain it.

Sorry I can`t really help you find the finishing polish, as I`m not familiar with OTC stuff nor Megs, someone will be able to help you here for sure.

    Best regards,
