I have a 2001 Cougar which I take good care of. I wash it often and keep it waxed but I didn`t realize until I was on this site, how careful you have to be sometimes. I have been washing my whole car with my bug net. Obviously I don`t SCRUB the car with it because it is never overly dirty but I just realized that maybe that would have scratched the paint. I don`t have a lot of swirl marks and I never thought anything of using the bug net because it says it is safe for clear coats. But then I read on a website not to even use them because they will scratch the paint??? I just always use it because it fits in my hand nicely. Do you think I did damage?

I`d say yes, but only you can be sure of that by looking at the paint in direct sunlight. Take a picture of it and post it here.
