I was at home depot this weekend and saw a foam gun similar to the one linked below for about $16 or 18. Looks interesting.

It has a soap container, and a slide switch to switch from soap to water only.

I`m tempted to go back and pick one up, but wanted to see if anybody has tried it before.

I don`t think that actually creates any foam, just a water soap mix.

Interesting. I imagine the idea would be similar though, correct? Is there some reason why this gun wouldn`t work?

    Thanks!

Well, I mean if you are looking for foam this gun won`t produce any. I have a similar item at home. It just adds solution to the water. An actually foam gun is designed to produce foam through a special foam nozzle and some air infiltration. If you are just looking for a gun to throw on some product as a prewash that will be fine. If you are looking to make foam it won`t do much.

I like the idea of one those for the undercarriage. The wand thing looks like it can really reach. That appears to possibly be the next best thing to that great undercarraige washing tool Accumulator has which is long since out of production.

I have the exact same one in the picture above in that link.

    It works like crap!

The water burrows a hole in the soap holding area (so it doesn`t mix right), and all you get is water. In order for it to work right, I had to actualy shake the entire unit while spraying...mixing the water and soap. It took more work to use that sprayer than to just rub the car down with soap and then spray it off.

The spray part of it too wasn`t any better than my thumb over an open hose end.

I`d seriously pass on this product. I wish I had...
