I was thinking about purchasing a small carpet shampoo`er / extracter. Used to use a bissel carpet cleaner that was made for the house, it had a hand held attachment but it no longer works very well....so what should I get for a decent price?

Walmart, Lowe`s, and Home Depot all carry a small steam cleaner for under $50.

You can`t beat the LGCM for what it costs IMO. It`s a big hike to an effective "spotting" extractor. You might as well save up all your stains and call a professional a few times a year, unless you have lil` ones. In that case a Mytee Lite II might fit your needs. HTH.
