just wondering any tips or products to get my vac to stop smelling like everybodies cigarettes and all sorts of nasty stuff. i clean it out once a week but i think i need to suck some product or something into it because the engine itself i believe is the one that stinks. any idea?

Every so often I will spray a few shots of the Deodorizer that I use as a pretreatment in my clients vehicles down the nozzle of my shop-vac. It seems to smell okay, but I really don`t work on many smokers cars and it sits in the back of my partitioned cargo van so, YRMV. You may want to try pulling your filter unit out of the center of the vac, APC`ing, hose rinsing and air drying every few.

I clean mine all the time. I usually spray some APC cleaner in it and let is soak and then hose it out. If it is real bad you might have to scrub it too. Recentley I also cleaned out my hoses by just spraying water through them.

I`m wondering what would happen if you vacuumed up a box-worth of baking soda? Or some charcoal filter media (pool supply store)?

No experience with this - I don`t let people smoke in my car :nomore: , and I don`t do other people`s cars.
