As some of you know, I recently purchased a 2006 VW Passat in Deep Black, which is simply a metallic black. The dealer prep was good, so I just used some IW and NB to deal with the Chicago winter. I am thinking ahead to spring....I want to avoid buying any additional products, as I have too many, and I think the ones I do have will be great on the black. I just want to lay out a process and see what you think...

    Clay if necessary

Polish with 1Z PP and a polishing pad

Follow with Menzerna PO106FF and polishing pad

PB EX/Carnauba with a finishing pad

    PB NB by hand

I thought of using VM after the Menzerna, but many have said it is a sin to top the menzerna polish with a glaze.

I think this will yield a great end product. Any thoughts? Now to get the windows tinted so it looks good for spring

    Thanks,

    Brett

I would just use the menzerna polish and skip the 1Z PP. 106FF is more than capable of clearing up a winter`s worth of marring.

Go for the VM! My process on my tC was performed on a 85RD prepped surface. The glazes really do add wetness and depth to the paint. I must say though, the clarity isn`t what it used to be. You can tell there`s something on the surface, but that`s something i can deal with.
