has anyone tried a traditional carwash like NXT in a spray bottle for a spray and wipe usage? spray, wipe and then follow up with a QD. any side affects providing you mix it up strongly enough?

if your going for a hoseless wash, why not just use QEW. If you spray a few shots of QD into the bucket you wont even have to QD afterwards. Besides, QEW is formulated to work as a hoseless wash. The chemicals lift and then encapsulate the dirt present on the car. I don`t know if a regular wash soap would do that (and then greatly increase the chance of causing swirls).

I`m considering some QEW for winter if I can find it locally-so far no luck and I don`t really like the idea of having to pay shipping on such an inexpensive item
The regular car wash will leave residue behind in some cases. It`s best just to go with QEW with a QD or S&W. Save the regular washes for the hose, IMO.
Certain walmarts may carry it. I know my three local ones dont and im 10 minutes from their florida distribution center. Other than that, camping world is the only other place that ive heard of that will have it, but those are few and far between.
If all fails just pick it up with some other items from vendors when they have their christmas sales. That`s what I`ll be doing.

Protect-All`s website has a link to all of the retailers of QEW in your area. Check it out if you want a true rinseless wash. I was a hater of QEW until I actually tried it. I was so afraid it would ruin my swirl free paint, but it really works great!

BTW- Their All Surface Care is a pretty nice product as well
For an entire winter, I used NXT soap on the Maxima (QEW-style washing). It worked, as in cleaned the dirt/salt off, but yes, it left a residue on the paint. You couldn`t see it on the white paint, but the paint wasn`t smooth after washing. It IS smooth after washing with QEW with QD mixed in.
Go with QEW. There`s no comparison with a traditional soap.

That`s pretty much what I do. I mix Mequiars car wash with water in an old FI bottle and wash the car down with that. When I have finished I QD and it removes any soap residue. I have used a spray bottle of clean water between the two before to rinse it but found it wasn`t necessary.
Just do what I do . . . buy 100 other things to take the sting out of the shipping costs. :grinno:Originally Posted by wannafbody
When you look in Walmart for QEW..look in the boating section.

Ive tried qew in a spray bottle, 1 oz to 15 ozs of water and that worked fine. Camping World has qew. Anyplace dealing with R.V. should also have it.
I was thinking about mixing it with my QD for a waterless spray wash
