I was wondering what all of you did with your old products.

    • Collect all of it!
    • Only use on certain parts of the car like only wheels
    • Find other uses for it. (Klasse AIO on shower walls anyone?)
    • Give it away to other people
    • Sell it
    • Trash it
    • ?????

Products I haven`t used in a while for some reason or another:

    • Gold Class Car Shampoo. I don`t think I`ll ever go back to normal car washing again after using QEW.
    • Mothers Cleaner Paste Wax.
    • Mothers Back to Black
    • Eagle One Wax As Your Dry
    • P21S Paintwork Cleaner
    • 3M SMR for Dark Paints
    • Meguiars #7
    • Meguiars #83 - DACP
    • Meguiars Deep Crystal System - Step 1
    • Clearkote Vanilla Moose
    • Klasse SG
    • S100. I still have a new container of it from 2-3 years ago. I wonder if it`s still good. I`ve had bad luck with the inner container popping out of the outer container.
    • RainX Windshield Wax. It made my wipers chatter. I probably should just throw it away.

The popular products now sure are different now then they were a two years ago! I`ve noticed a trend away from normal glazes and most of the previously recommended polishes. I`ll have to try some of the newer polishes that work well with a PC.

In the past, I`ve pretty much thrown away any remaining otc products I used to use (pre Autopia) with the exception of AA,Meg`s #26,EO A-Z wheel cleaner, EO Tire Swipes. Since then I`ve become a pack rat! I`ve assembled a massive collection of boutique products simply due to trying them all out. They`re like family to me now. (lol) My family & friends think that my (2) 50 gallon rubbermaid totes full of high end detailing products are pretty strange. I mean come on..........It`s not like I collect zip lock bags full of my toe nail clippings!!

I tried mothers back to black on the wheel wells once because it was just sitting there collecting dust. looked great for the first day, then it turned the wells a white color. took apc to it and threw the back to black away. i threw away my meguiar`s quik wax. RainX i used on the house windows. it was really cool seeing the water bead off them during hurricane wilma

I gave away most of my inferior products. I still have a few that I don`t use much, like #7, #9, #18 (clear plastic detailer), EX-P, and Mothers Plastic Polish.

I used #7 + EX-P + Nattys on my dark blue kayak helmet though!

I had the container of S100 pop out of the jar as well. A little hot glue took care of it. I usually just toss products I don`t care for in the trash. Like I said in another thread, Pinnacle Advanced SMR took care of the waterspots on my shower walls! I tossed it after that though. I don`t use NXT Wash, SG, or VM much anymore either.

If I think a product works poorly I`ll usually give it away. If it works really poorly I throw it away. If it works OK, but not better than the product currently in my "line up" then I keep it and use it on other people`s cars. I have so many products sitting in the garage. I really need to post a picture of my collection.

I`ve decided that durability and ease of use are the two most important things to me right now. My car`s exterior is so dented it`s almost unbelievable. I`m just trying to get the paint to stay decent and the interior clean. You should see how much bad luck my car have had! (Maybe I`ll post pictures one day.)

    • Hail damage (estimate to fix it came out to be a little under $4k)
    • Someone ran into my car or just hit my car (Left about 3/4 inch deep, 2-3 inch wide dent, along with a nice foot long scratch on the back left side of my car)
    • Hood stepped on (left a nice footprint) and bashed my windshield (while it was parked in front of my house). That left a nice foot wide dent in my hood. Windshield was still in one piece, but completedly shattered.
    • Broken passenger side window and stolen CD player (in a chruch parking lot between 11 AM and 3 PM)
    • And just two weekends ago... I was at a stop light and a large truck rear ended me... Then he rear ended me again. I got out of his way at fast as possible and he just drove off. It was under 5 mph when I was hit (both times), but I still have scratches all over my bumper.

Once I`ll get out of college, I`ll either fix all of it or get a new car.

Did you get the liscense plate?

If you ever have a problem with another driver, one where it makes you feel afraid, call the cops, tell them what is happening, and then say "and he is waving at me with something that looks like a gun"

That will get them to the scene very fast, and cause the knucklehead some problems.
