Never used one before, thinking of getting one.

Should I go for no less than 50 psi/3.5 bar or will any one do?

I presume steam cleaning would strip wheel wax, but I`m concerned about heat damage or inadvertantly causing damage round rim of wheel near kerbing marks, or do I not need to woory?

    Any views appreciated. Cam

I`m certainly no expert on them, but it seems like they should be OK to use on wheels if folks are using them safely on interior plastics, fabric, and carpeting. My $0.02

Your wheels go through much worse when you`re out driving, imo. Immense heat, brake dust, dirt, ... steam shouldn`t hurt them at all.
