Please do not kill me if this is an elementary question.
Given the same manufacturer....are paste waxes superior in any way to a liquid one or are they pretty much the same?

Preference really. Liquids are easier to use via a machine, while it seems I have better luck applying paste by hand. The liquids have more solvent content though..not sure if that has any substantial effect on anything though.
Agree. It`s your choice and preference. I prefer to use liquid with PC.

I have heard this too, from a Mothers rep at a car show.Originally Posted by drewski59

Where as some manufacturers will tell you there is no differences between the two! lol
Like others I use liquid versions by machine, pastes by hand. Saying that the only liquid Carnuba I have in use at the moment is CMW and I use that by both methods as its only available as a liquid.
I, on the other hand, just love using paste waxes by machine (usually the Cyclo). Souveran is about the only paste I use that I`ll apply by hand.
I`ve found that pastes generally give greater durability, and, being "heavier" are better at concealing defects. But it`s sorta tough to generalize, at least between waxes from different manufacturers.
I used liquids for a few years, but when I went back to pastes I decided to just keep doing it that way.
