Many of us have not been able to fnd these great new Michelin tire products.

After doing some research, it appears that only 2/3 of the AutoZone stores carry the product. Fortunately it is selling out so AutoZone is likely to pick up the line in an even bigger way. I also have heard that Petroferm (license holder and mfr for Michelin) is talking to other Auto parts stores.

So what do we do in the interim? Buy mail order from their distributor.

Here`s the information as supplied by one of their customer service reps:

    *****

Thanks for your interest in the Michelin Wheel & Tire Care products.ï¿Â½_ These new products - Wheel & Tire Cleaner, 3 in 1 Tire Shine, and Brake Dust Repellent â€â€œ are available at AutoZone stores nationwide.ï¿Â½_ I apologize that you have been unable to find them in your area, but we expect them to be more widely available as we continue securing placement with other automotive appearance product retailers. You can purchase them online at http://www.x1r.com/michelin2.htm For more information on the products, please visit our website at www.petroferm.com/michelin

    Excellent info.

I was in AutoZone today for other reasons, I glanced at the detailing isle. I looked for the Michelin products and noticed that there were ony one of each product. I still havn`t had a chance to try out my tire shine yet, just too much rain in the forcast around here lately.

The customer rep Alexia told me that their biggest problem was that AutoZone was having severe shortages...but she added that this will obviously lead to them carrying deeper inventory at more stores. I asked about Pep Boys and she mentioned they are talking to a number of large retailers like them.

I think we will soon see national availability.

I`m surprised they passed you by Lee.

The AutoZone around here near Daytona has/had them. I would have thought Georgia would have had first picks.

Are they simply out or never had them at all by you?

They just opened one store and they have not had the first batch yet according to the store manager. I went to 2 other stores and they had not seen the product. Must be slow on the uptake here in the local stores.

It`s because Michelin licensed it to Petroferm who is a contract chemical manufacturer. Maybe they could have a European distributor you can buy from. Click the "Contact Us" tab on the www.petroferm. com site and call the Customer Service number. Maybe they are partnered with someone in Europe.

I also saw on the Michelin US site absolutely no mention of the products which is odd...they should showcase the products given the reception so far and the huge brand name of Michelin...

I did have some available. Only a few people were really even interested in it. I sent out most of what I had for people to play with and test, months ago. There are cases of the products (and some unreleased products) just sitting around in peoples garages. If you ask the right people, you can probably get a lifetime supply.

These products seem to be readily available here in Ontario. Haven`t bothered with them as I have my own favorites for tire and wheel care. Canadian Tire has them on their shelves here.
