Do you have Carquest out there? They sell Insulator wax for $9.99.

I`ll order some online if I really can`t find them locally. From what I have heard, it seems like these stuff offers one of the best protection out there, even better than some synthetic waxes.

We do have a Carquest, and I`ll check them out tomorrow. I am hoping to give the Doublecoat a try, it seems like these stuff lasts the longest. I am not trying to be lazy and not wax my car for 6 months. I`m just looking for a product that I can always know that my car is being protected.

I do. In my opinion, the 845 is maybe the best all around product available. Great looks, very very use to use, very durable, super slick.

Edit: The 845 is NOT a souveran killer, which is in a class by itself. But to my eye is within striking distance of S100. It looks the same that the very popular Megs#16, last a little longer and is much easier to apply.

I agree. I have shelved SG, EX-P, UPP, Megs #20, for Insulator Wax. It`s the most durable product I have used and is almost as easy as S100 to use. On my silver it looks super glossy and is as slick as anything I have tried except UPP. Lasts much longr than UPP though . At $9.99 a bottle at Carquest it`s easily one of the best values in detaling products.

Collinite`s IW 845 is AWESOME. Easiest wax to use, Im at 4+ months on my vehichle right now. Looks are pretty good. TO me it reminds me of Zaino with a high shine and high reflectivity. Very very clear look. With its durability its hard to beat.

Niagara Falls NY. Not sure if all Carquest stores have the same stock.

I got mine at www.thebestwax.com & I can vouch for the durability of #476s. I applied 3x layers back in October and, though the original round, tight, tall beads have degraded, it`s still beading as well as can be expected after a Western New York winter (read: mega-salt ..... I think the salt truck drivers get paid by the pound).

Nothing special done in-between aside from many visits to the touchless wand wash and hand wash when the weather allows.

Collinite definitely lives up to the hype and one can/container will last years. Collinite is made in Utica, NY so it`s quite possible Eastern CarQuest stores carry it but Central & Western CarQuests do not.

I almost wonder if it is on a store by store basis? Maybe a manager puts it on his shelves because he like it. At the $9.99 price though, they are buying in large volume, because that selling price isn`t much over my cost. So the corporation has to be buying it in lots of 240 bottles or more at a time. Might be buying it warehousing it and then each store orders it from a regional Carquest distribution center????
