I started using Hot Rims from Meguiars. It is excellent. I was using S100 which I thought was an excellent wheel cleaner for one that is water based, but HR is easier to get. My question is, is there an acid in HR and what kind of acid is used in HR? I do like it but, I am concerned about long term use and possible damage to my clear coated rims.

    Thanks.

It has hydroxy acetic acid and oxalic acid. The major active ingredient is sodium petroleum sulfonate. They do say it`s an "all wheel cleaner".
