I bought a PC yesterday. Now, it is a PC 7424, and it comes with 2 Meg cutting, and 2 meg polishing pads. Velcro backing plate and all. So what else should I buy? I don`t have much cash to spend on this so, try to keep it nice and low.

BTW this is Buick_guy on a new account cause my other one isn`t working.

I bought one last week as well. It came in the mail a few days ago, along with the Sonus pads from Autopia.

Wow, I just ordered my Sonus PC kit this morning from Autopia. Hope to get it early next week. These things must be just flying out the door!

What polishes do you have, are they for hand or PC use? I have been useing 1z line of polishes. Great for hand use and even better with the PC. Add some quality MF`s and your all set.

Hey audio1der, I bought it from a fellow member of this site, gemini-s2k.

7424 that has been used a total of 6x now maybe.. 2 months old.

    Has the Velcro backing plate..

    - Meg`s cutting pad (2 of them)

    - Meg`s polishing pad (2 of them)

    - Half a bottle of DACP

    - Quart of #80 meg speed glaze

    - about 15 microfiber towels that have been used 3x..

I got it for a awsome deal, 140 USD, shipped to my door. (which is in Canada, and is made even sweeter.)

I`d like to thank gemini-s2k. for his help in the matter, and thank him for helping me finally get a PC.

Now for DSVWGLI`s question, I have a couple different polishes in my arsenal right now:

    -3M Rubbing compound

    -Meguiars Swirl Free Polish

    -Soon to have Meguiars DACP

-Also have some #80 Meg`s Speed Glaze.

Any other polishes that you could reccommend to me, plus some different pad/product combo`s that work the best together.

I thank everyone once again for all the help in the past and in the future.

I`m getting a few LC pads (hopefully... the tracking page has been a little fishy) either tomorrow or in an hour or two. When I open the package up and finish inhaling all the fumes of new detailing products and rubbing the new MF`s all over my face, I`ll let you know what I think of the pads `at a glance`.

congrads. i love mine, as you can see right above my avatar. now with you and I using the PC, we brought the average of of a PC user down about 20 years

I ordered and recieved my PC last week with the Sonus pad kit. I had results pleasing to me and my neighbors. A polish that worked good for swirls was 3M MG 39012. It was very user friendly. I will post pics when I figure out how to do it.

I agree. But I`m more of a supercharger kinda guy, so we have to say away from each other. Unless you want to be basic boost buddies, I`m all for that.

And also; yes please do let me know how those pads work out.

Anyone wanna tell me how they like their Meg`s pads?

I love the Meg`s polishing pads. They hold up real well and have just enough cut to them. I haven`t had a reason to use the cutting pads yet, but friom what I hear they are QUITE agressive, so much so that Meg`s doesn`t even reccomend them for PC use. While I don`t think you would do any real damage with them, I am sure the will cause significant hazing with something like DACP which is the reason for the warning.

I`ve had good luck with the Meg`s pads also (polish and finish), plus I`ve found a source to buy them locally.

Denali-D is right about the Meg`s cutting pad, they don`t recommend using it with a PC. I`ve read where some on here have used them on a PC, but some new users have reported problems with hazing afterwards. I`d suggest you experiment with them on a beater (or old junkyard panel) first before using. I`ve had good results using the LC orange pad where I needed something more aggressive than the polish pad.

I`m sure you`ll love your new purchase....

Another thing with the Meg`s pads is that the velcro doesn`t always seem to hold up too well when used aggressively with a PC. They`re really made for a rotary, which stresses the velcro and its adhesive differently. That might have something to do with the cutting pads/PC issue.

I think it was the older Meg`s pads that had the Velcro problem, supposedly they have corrected that.

The Megâ€â„¢s pads list for about $11.00 each, the 83 lists for about $19, and the #80 lists for about $15.00 (all U.S. $$). Youâ€â„¢ve done enough research to know what the PCâ€â„¢s are selling for, so you got a pretty good deal.

i would think you would have to be carefull what type of glue you use to reattatch the velcro, i think that some glues could actually melt the foam material , i have seen spray glues made for this the foam and velcro
