I have used my PC a bout half a dozen times since I first got it. I ordered the PC/Pad combo from Detailer`s Paradise. I have 3 polishing pads that are starting to deteriorate rapidly. The urethane backing plate and the velcro backing on the pad are exactly the same diameter causing the edge of the backing plate to literally eat the pads. I can still use them, but the chewed up foam ends up on the surface I`m working on. I`m worried that the small fragments of foam might cause marring.

What are some good quality cutting, polishing and finishing pads that have a large diameter velcro backing to prevent this problem? I`m looking at the Meg`s pads. The Sonus look nice but they appear to have the same diameter velcro and therefore no protection from being shredded by the backing plate. Any advice?

I cut out a Chinet (thick paper) plate and it works fine too.
