I have some, it smells like it has a pretty strong solvent in it.

In my hometown back in Oregon one of the local PBE stores always stocked this product because a lot of the area farmers bought it for their John Deere Tractors and other farm vehicles.

I does not seem like something I would want on my car for some reason. You ever use it Mike?

Not on a whole car, just an area of an oxidized single stage finish.

It worked as far as removing the oxidation and restoring the color, but I couldn`t get past the smell. I have some in the office, I test it again if you like later this week.

If you want you can. No big deal, I just saw it discussed on another board and was sort of curious. Does it seemed like it is filled with fillers?

They used to sell Astroshield at one of our local cars shows....I remember it smelly really strong too.

I think the guy that used to sell it....(ya know..metal eating acid on the finish, fire, etc) switched to selling Perma-Seal, the Lazy Mans` wax. A bit off topic...but this stuff was nuts. Perma-Seal looked like dirt dumped into a margarine bowl.

Wait a second. I might of saw a guy selling this Astro stuff at the Detroit Autorama. They always have these guys wearing headsets with microphones showing product on the hood of a car. Dang it, I can not remember who it was now.

Someone at the Corvette Forum posted that it removed a bird bomb etching (on a black vette no less) that other products had failed to remove. I can look for the link if someone requests it.

OMG that stuff is still around? I have a can of it (looks the same) from back in the early 1990`s....

It`s a high solvent system, very similar to liquid glass and finish first in my opinion.....

Astroshield is much like Liquid Glass but has stronger cleaning abilities and seems slightly more abrasive. It is also much less expensive than LG.

I have used it on some cars similarly to the way people use Klasse AIO as a base coat for Zaino. The only difference that I do is wait a week or two and then wash the car thoroughly before putting on Zaino.

My father and uncle swore by the stuff. They would buy several cans at a swap meet each year. I switched them over to Clearkote stuff now. I haven`t seen the Astro Shield guy in a few years.
