I just got off the phone with a tech representative from Vector. The speeds of the machine start with 1,000 RPM at dial "1." Each numeral on the speed dial represents about 400 RPM. Thus, number 3 on the dial would be about 1,800 RPM!

I was ready to buy the 500 RPM at dial number 1 until I heard from Vector itself. :shocked

The DeWalt`s lowest setting is also 1000 RPM. I think the Makita starts at 800, but I am not sure.

Porter Cable 7428 starts at 1000rpm as well. Goes to 3000rpm. 400rpm increments is what I figured eventhough PC doesn`t tell you what they are.
There are only three things you need to know about me. Gloss, Gloss, GLOSS!!
