Are these Lake Country 7.5" pads:

    http://www.lakecountrymfg.com/foampads_curv.html

The same as 7.5" CMA Durofoam pads @$10.95...

    http://www.properautocare.com/adfoampadfor.html

    ...and TOL 7.5" Durafoam pads @$8.25, 6/$45.00 ($7.50)?

    http://www.topoftheline.com/7durvelpad.html

They sure look the same. Anyone know for sure?

    TIA

I bought the pads from TOL, and if I recall correctly, they said Lake Country on them. I`ll check tonight when I get home.

I have the CMA and TOL pads and they look identical. I haven`t tried the TOL pad yet though and they do say Lake County on them.

Do you use the PC Hook and loop pad from PC?

I have the PC supplied backing plate part 18001 "standard" hook and loop. It does not hold on pads for doody! Is there another plate that works better? I see one on TOL, is that any good?

I have brand new pads that won`t stick to it.

    Thanks,

    Bruce

So I was correct in the initial assumption/assertion that spawned this thread.

    Lake Country=CMA ($10.95)=TOL ($7.50)...

Yep, I bought these pads and used them for the first time last weekend (see my post "Father`s Day Detail" in the bragging section. At 6 for $45 it is a great deal. I bought 2 yellow, 3 white, 1 gray.

    Used 1 yellow with DACP

    1 white with S100 SEC

    1 white with Mothers Sealer/Glaze.

I tried applying the S100 (applied with a putty knife) with the grey pad, but felt like I was wasting wax, and just continued applying the S100 by hand.

    Turned out great.

P.S.- I bought the 7336 from Lowes, and bought a kit for ~$5 to turn your regular backing plate to a hook and loop backing plate. Worked well for me.

It`s great watching Marv call the local Knicks games for the local cable sports news network.

As a result of this thread, I bought my cutting and polishing pads from TOL.

Great investigative work! Thanks for sharing. :xyxthumbs

Mmmph, I just noticed that on the pad it says 6.5" x 1.25" and this matches the Lake Country part number, but on the TOL site they list it as being 7.5" size.

Could you please do me a big favour and tell me what the pad measures and what the 6.5" is referring to? I have the feeling 6.5" is for the velcro and 7.5" is overall diameter...

Lake Country is not spilling the beans to me about this issue. Thanks!

I had a talk with Irene (TOL owner as far as I know) today (I sooo confused one of her workers, so she ended up giving the phone to Irene.) The 6.5 inch is for the velcro backing. The pad itself is 7.5 inches. I bought the 7 inch pads with the 5 3/4 / 6 inch velcro backing. I just don`t want to use a bigger pad (7.5 inch) with my PC because the backing plate I have is 5 inches and I do have the 5 inch counterweight. I don`t want to make the PC rattle and jiggle some more. Once I get my license I`m going to drive over to the PC service center in Queens, NY and get my PC a tune up.
