Turtle WaX? Yes. And it works. "Restores & Protects modern clear coat finishes. Removes swirl marks and light scratches. Produces a brilliant shine. Micronsized Clear Coat Resins Fill in Minor Scratches and Swirls."

I`m new to this and I don`t have experience with IHG, #7 or Mothers S&G. But, I have tried this product on my black Santa Fe and the results make me more happy than I was before.

I had a couple of slight scratches on my hood that VM helped, but did not cure/hide. The Turtle Wax product did a better job. The scratches are now barelly visible.

The product was applied by hand with a terry applicator and removed with a MF towel. S100 was applied to preserve the work.

Black is such an unforgiving finish! Is there a better solution?

You mean this product (named Clear Coat Polish & Restorer)?

Glad it worked for you. Now to try out one of the 3M or Meguiar`s products and see how it compares!

I`m always kinda curious about these cheapie TW products because they`re easy to find and might be good to recommend for the average non-Autopian. I know a friend of mine has the TW Scratch & Swirl Remover and it seems to work quite well on his recurring oxidation, though I haven`t gotten around to borrowing it from him yet to compare.

By the way Gadfly, does this stuff seem at all abrasive, or is it basically a non-abrasive glaze?

    Seems ever so lightly gritty.

Hmm, I guess it`s a bit closer to a swirl remover or something then....

I`ll pass on anything Turtle Wax has. They`re good products for their price but I don`t mind paying a little more.

That`s true. I had a look at this stuff today over lunch, and found:

    a) It`s not that much more cheaper than "the good stuff", which surprised me.

    b) This seems to be Turtle Wax`s version of a glaze or something similar. I don`t know about the "gritty" comment made above, but the instructions on the back basically just tell you to lay this stuff on without rubbing or working it in. The Scratch & Swirl Remover does though.
