Just to add a little more to the Platinum confusion...

Yesterday we washed the 850 -- this is the 3rd wash after applying Platinum UPP on 7-3-02. After each wash we have used the Gloss Enhancer (and between washes, too)

We have 1 layer of P21S wax on the car, also one month old.

We used P21S Bodywork Conditioning shampoo on each wash.

Here are our results in pictures.........

    This photo is before washing....

And finally, after drying with PakShak MFs & then QD`ing with Platinum Gloss Enhancer on the right side of the hood, and One Grand`s Show Off on the left side (ran out of my Platinum Sample! ) (Sorry about the bad lighting of the pic -- our driveway has tons of trees & so is pretty dark)

P.S. - That`s Meguiar`s Trim Detailer on the front bumper -- best it`s looked since we bought the car in April!!

Dawn washed first -- we had done all the paint prep (SMR, etc) in May -- and had just used DC Car Care Super Glaze & Meguiar`s #26 Wax at that time - no other sealers.

In a couple of weeks (we have a huge detailing job coming up this weekend), I`m going to strip off the Platinum (if it still remains ) and then try the Klasse Twins topped with P21S -- so, more comparisons to come!!

That was my initial thought after reading all the posts over the last couple of days about the Platinum wearing away so quickly.

Well, my question is, if the P21S is still there (top layer), wouldn`t the Platinum still be?!

Or maybe it`s because we used the P21S shampoo instead of Platinum shampoo (which some have said to be pretty harsh).

:nixweiss I have to admit -- I`m pretty confused!

I use the Klasse twins but, I see no reason to strip a car that looks that beautiful just for a test. Not in August anyway.

That makes sense to me. Unless the Platinum magicly vanishes from under carnuba. :nixweiss

How do you like that Gloss Enhancer? I wasn`t a huge fan of QDs untill I tried that stuff. Its the first non carnuba QD that I`ve used that I can really see it working. Plus it smells good.

I have to admit I like their Gloss Enhancer a lot! Unfortunately, I bought a gallon of the OG so, I`ll have to use all that up before getting more QD!!

I like the One Grand, but I think I like the Platinum GE even more.

I do plan on giving away small bottles of QD to folks who get our "Executive Detail", so hopefully it will be used up quickly.

June 20th, I used Platinum on my 1998 Pontiac Transport. June 21st, I added a second coat, may or may not have layered, depending on who you listen to. Since then the van has been washed several times and Platinum Gloss Enhancer has been used betwen washes. I just washed it again today and man, it sure looks good for a product that has been gone after the first 2 weeks. The color is Black Sapphire, which is a dark blue that might as well be black for care. I don`t think I am quite ready to throw my Platinum away just yet.

Volvo4Me, the beading would be from P21S ,from Platinum(according to web discriptions)would be sheeting. That is IMO
