In the old days Turtle Wax tar remover...I finally used up my can from...the 80`s? I`ve been using CarPro Tar-X now, the nice thing about it is it doesn`t have too much odor. You`d probably do just as well with odorless mineral spirits from Home Depot, TBH. No experience with the Stoners, personally.

This is what I use all the time. It might be the only product I`ve used for this purpose. It worked so well I`ve never felt the need to try anything else. I`ve also found it works OK on light adhesive goo when in a pinch and don`t have Goo Gone or 3M Adhesive Remover handy.

    Very good.

My wife drives a ton of miles on rural highways for her job. They are constantly patching those roads or applying tar to seal the cracks and the stuff gets all over her vehicle. A quick shot of the stoners and the stuff wipes right off. If it`s really bad, I`ll let it dwell for a minute and then wipe everything off. Either way, it`s never let me down.

I even used to remove some light road paint splatters she picked up once.

Stoners is good. Tar-X works well, too.

3M Adhesive Remover is the best I`ve seen for really stubborn tar.

Older. You said 3M adhesive remover is the best you have ever seen for really subborne tar. How is it for road grime. Thanks

Mineral spirits has been the safe tar/grease remover for decades.
