    Re: DIY Detail

"Correct, we started by hiring a chemist ( he’s been in the industry 30 years as a contract chemist for many companies). Once our formulas decided upon we searched out chemical companies that had the competencies to make the formula in question. Yvan has been on the manufacturing side of the industry for over 30 years, so he has many contacts. Even the biggest companies in the industry do not mix all the products they sell, using specialty companies to make different formulas."

$19 in the states. Comparable to others on the market in terms of price.

How is that comparable at $19 for 16 oz, when ONR is $18 and ONRWW is $22 for 32oz, and even the new P&S Absolute is $18 for 32oz, all the same dilution rate?

There are other products besides those two that come in 16 oz sizes. But it seems folks get stuck on ONR which is fine.

I`m not "stuck on ONR". Please educate me to the other comparable products to this DIY Detail product, I`m not "stuck on ONR" but I am stuck using up my Flavor of the Month collection of products so I may be a bit out of the loop on what`s currently available.

In Canada 16oz of DIY RW is $25 and N914 is 32oz for $30. ONR and absolute are even cheaper than N914. Its basically double the price..the price alone makes its a non-starter for me. Love my N914! Still one of my favorite products. I might pick up absolute or feynlab someday but i think i will always have N914 since i know how to use it....but who knows lol I might just save $7 for 32oz and get absolute instead of N914. Its starting to get low actually and i even use it around the house a little bit now.

Do we really need another line of DIY type detailing chemicals? There are so many of these types of brands where people want their own “branded” products to sell.

I vote no. But I suppose if the products are good, we shouldn`t complain. I once again am bemused that Yvan is out there hawking another product line. Reminds me of a book that`s out there about politics, suggesting that if you give up your close-held beliefs easily, then maybe they weren`t really close-held beliefs to begin with. Re Yvan and Optimum.

Like most it would be expensive. Anyway I ordered some to see if it is any good.

So far, their line seems very competitive. Products are performing very well. I may try Quick Beads, which looks like a better version of Wet Coat.

I really like the gallon RW packaging for some reason and it`s competitive at that size. I might just get it my next purchase and be done with it. A gallon will last me over 2 years no problem unless i start using it for things outside detailing.

Well, I have way too much rinseless wash concentrate on hand already....

but with the Thanksgiving Day sale they were running, along with a reduced-price kit, I ended up getting the rinseless wash kit.
    for 28$US i got

    • 16oz DIY Detail Rinseless Wash (1)
    • 16oz DIY Detail Ceramic Gloss (1)
    • Twist Drying Towel (2)
    • Cotton Candy Dream Mitt (1)

    That`s a pretty good deal.
