Do people still watch his videos? I stopped watching long ago. This test is flawed just as much as the torture tests.

Yeah that’s how Cerakote and other coatings get durability claims. How many washes it’s survives. Silly but they gotta test it some how.
Yeah scott HD is a hard pass for me too.

I don`t know about flawed, but I rather his tests over the torture tests. I don`t go out spraying my car with APC, but it does sit out side, so I have more faith in his tests. Cause if a coating can`t make it 6 months on a panel that is just sitting out side then it surly won`t last on my car that I drive 5k miles in 3 months.

This a a "crack" in the system for the consumer. How do you validate product claims? What does "durability" mean? What does "fantastic" mean? What does, "pop" and "shiny" mean?
Tests wont be able to simulate lengthy extreme temperature exposure that cars are subject to. Initial durability tests like the "Wash test" are wow for a consumer, but don`t translate equally to real world performance.

That is exactly why I find the forums so useful. It`s the best way to learn from people who have used the products under real world conditions and you`re able to share what you`ve experienced. Marketing really means nothing to me and I don`t bother with YouTube videos for the same reason.
Is it perfect. Nope. Climate and use cases will vary, but it`s often much more relevant than some of the tests we`ve seen others do.
