To be honest I really don’t use many traditional waxes or sealants anymore. I have transitioned to coatings years ago; and because of that I am able to use maintenance products and regular washing.

I find that making sealant and wax recommendations really hinges on where your located and what you are looking for as far as goals. Some sealants are really easy to use and look great but have poor durability while others are harder to use and apply but at real tough in harsh conditions like winters here in Ohio at times.

when it comes to waxes again are you looking for durability or beauty? For the beauty waxes don’t really last long on a daily driver and can get expensive. 845 is hard to beat for a durable wax. Some will say the Collinite paste wax can be slightly more durable.

For ease of use I find the old Optimum spray wax to be hard to beat and since it’s a spray wax I use it at times like a drying aid and wax in 1 step. Making monthly or bi-monthly applications a breeze.

I got to the same point with sealants. I wanted quick and easy to use. Because I knew that with a spray wax or any of the other maintenance products I had I could get 6+ months out of anything aligning with me twice a years full details.

Opti-Coat is still around but it is now a pro only product and there are even levels to that. (Pro, Pro+, Pro 3)

the consumer version is called Optimum Gloss Coat and it is super easy to apply. Overall durability hasn’t been great for me. To be honest I kinda look at gloss-coat as a longer term sealant since I get 1+ years from it max.

Troy. I never used ceramic coatings before. How long do they last. Which ones do you like and use.

When it comes to coatings some will last a year+ and others will claim to last 5+. It kinda depends on what you are looking for as far as durability vs slickness and looks. I have found that products are really slick seem to lose that slickness over time quicker that I would expect. I find a good quality coating will last last 2+ years if you do the proper maintenance. I use drying aid maintenance products to keep the slickness.

I have used quite a few coatings but others have used many more. (Guz, 981 cayman)

The Opti Gloss-Coat is really easy to use for a first timer. I prefer using CarPro coatings and have gotten 3+ years from CQUK. They have a newer updated version as well as a new SiC that replaced the older Ti02 that I liked.

Also the TurtleWax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Spray Coating is actually really easy to apply and would be a great step towards using full coatings. Since it applies like a spray wax and has decent durability for what it is I would consider using that. I got some as a Christmas present and used it on wheels and was impressed.

The people who are getting long life out of products are using maintenance washes or sprays which keeps the product in good shape. I`ve gotten 6 months durability out of some spray products with just an occasional wash with regular car soap. Too many variables between products and methods.

I like Glassparency Boost the best. Tried Sonax Ceramic Ultra Slick and P&S Dream Maker at the same time and Boost is the one I’ve stuck with.

On a coated vehicle, Carpro Ech2O. Another use for such a great product.

All of my vehicles are coated, but when I still used a sealant, Kenotek Showroom Shine, was my do-it-all. Sadly, it isn`t available any more.

I`ve used Can Coat and Optimum Gloss Coat. Like both a lot. Super easy to use. I`ve been topping lately with Tec582. Incredible value, great gloss, and among the easiest products to use. I`d put Tec582 above Gyeon Ceramic Detailer.
