I`ve used 3D Super Soap, and while it may not have a `pleasant smell`...it`s not really that bad. One soap that rarely gets mentioned is P&S Pearl......economical, cleans well, rinses well, good lubricity, and nice scent (a little lemony if I recall). Along the same lines is Jay Leno`s vehicle wash.....cherry scent, foams well, cleans well, rinses easily, good lubricity. If you wanted to try it, Pep Boys has it on sale for 5.90/16 oz bottle....order it online and pick it up in store to get that price. Honestly, it`s one of the slicker soaps I`ve used.

I used to LOVE DG. It`s been ages since I`ve used it. Hopefully they haven`t -reformulated- it like Griots. The lubricity on DG was just as good as Griots (back when Griots was my top shelf). Reset is great on cleaning on lubricity. Just maybe a tad too -strong- for a weekly wash and want to get something with a bit less bite.

I’ll try and give my 2 cents in case it worth anything since I have used most of the soaps listed or suggested.

I do agree that Reset seems to be towards the top in slickness and cleaning ability. While it is a little stronger I have used it slightly more diluted to try and temper that and it seems to work. But finding the right dilution where you feel safe is the trick. And that all depends on you water quality and how dirty and or protected a vehicle is.

Hyperwash has been one of my favorites and go too soaps for quite some time. I think I have used at least 4 gallons and as an enthusiast I think that’s saying something. It was my main option when doing weekly washing and not doing rinseless.

The Duragloss soap in my opinion is basically just as good as Hyperwash. The 2 exceptions for me are the dilution ratio and the scent. I just didn’t care for the cherry cough syrup scent after using a gallon of it.

Optimum car wash was okay for. It had good foam and was slick while cleaning well. My issue was that it was harder to rinse off than the other soaps above. I know this is a location and water quality thing. I just noticed it really wanted to cling to whatever protection I had on the vehicle. Again I liked it enough I bought and used a gallon.

I have had Koch-Chemie GSF for some time now and got it before many of the online marketing people started the hype train. It really is very good. The cleaning it good and the slickness is really close if not equal to Rest for me. Now I should do a setup and wash at least 2 of our vehicles back to back using Rest and GSF so I can confirm for sure. If Reset is your top then GSF be a very close second.



The current hotness seems to be ceramic and graphene soaps. I don’t really see the point in using a “protection” soap as my normal wash soap since I have a drying aid or protection topper.


Edit:
Another soap to possibly consider is the P&S Pearl soap. It is rather slick and is good with cleaning. But it seems a little more gentle than Rest, Hyperwash, etc. the nice thing is it is so easy to rinse off. I actually started using it for wheel cleaning. It seams to not mess with the coating or wheel sealant as much.

I think so.

I have not actually used it in a foam cannon or gun. I have used it as strictly a bucket was soap.

There are a number of YouTube videos showing it as a foam soap. But lately I have moved past the foaming displays and have just been rinsing and washing. I will use a pump sprayer to apply some wash soap the the surface to sit before washing.



Truth be told my old cheap pressure wash died and I just haven’t needed or wanted to replace it yet. I wanted to build a better system where I can use it regularly without having to tear it down every time.

• Pour approx. 20 ml Snow Foam into 1 liter (1 quart) of water
• Lather the vehicle using a foam sprayer. If necessary, clean with washing mitts or similar and rinse with water.
• To hand wash: Pour 50 ml into 10 liters (2.5 gallons) of water, clean the vehicle with washing mitts and rinse with water.
• Perfectly suitable for application using a foam gun: Pour 10-30 ml Green Star into the pre-mixed Snow Foam solution.

I`ve kind of standardized around 1 oz soap in my Gilmour II foam gun (quart) and I generally do 1 oz in 2 gallons of water in the wash bucket regardless of what the product mfr claims or recommends. This has worked well for me and my water supply.
