Ryobi has a new DA polisher.

    12mm throw
    $200 (no battery)
Ryobi claims 2 hours of battery with a 9ah battery.
comes with 5" backing plate and 3 pads which look like maybe Meguiars to me.

I`m looking to get a cordless machine, I really like the Makita, but I have no Makita batteries and the battery life on it isn`t that great, also it`s expensive. I stumbled upon this today, I`m really curious to see someone test Ryobi`s battery life claim. Dunno if I want to use a polisher for long periods with a heavy 9ah battery. But possibly 40 minutes with a 4ah would be sweet. The one hands on video I saw on YT he seemed to like it a lot. I know it`s not the Makita or cordless Flex, but for $200 especially for those of us who already have Ryobi batteries and chargers this might be a pretty good option.

I hope somebody here buys one and runs it thru the ringer. A good Autotopian review would be nice. Hummm, maybe i`ll be the one to buy it. They`re out of stock right now, or not in stock yet I dunno.

I watched a video and it looked great, I am just concerned that the battery could hit the paint. It is kind of close.

I`m a bit concerned about the battery, so I`ll most likely use the smaller ones I already have. Will def. watch out for the paint. Thanks.

The one YT review I watched he said he thought the battery would get in the way and hit the paint but it didn`t for him. I think the vertical orientation could make the balance feel weird though. Maybe HD has a demo unit out and I can take one of my batteries to see how it feels weight wise. I also want to see some reviews on battery life, Ryobi`s saying up to 2 hours with a 9ah but that sounds like a big stretch to me. If you don`t have Ryobi batteries the Dewalt 18v DA`s like $50 more, looks pretty damn nice to me. And it`s 15mm.

I`d go with the shinemate personally since they have a 3 inch cordless has well to match the same batteries.

The YT videos I saw on their cordless line they all look great. But nowhere in US sells them, or at least nowhere I found while Googling. I found a place in the UK that`ll ship here, but that`s $$$$, and then you`d need a converter to be able to use the charger. I can`t find any info on if they plan to release a 120v version in the US. The price in the UK these are good deals, it`s nice to see quality cordless machines that don`t cost an arm and a leg. That`s one of the reasons I stayed away from the Flex cordless.

Kobalt has a 24V DA cordless polisher.....tool only is 129.00.....two (4.0ah) batteries and charger will set you back another 149.00.....not quite the OPM range of a Flex....but half the price. Battery orientation is the same as the Flex and the ShineMate...and it comes with a 5-year warranty

I like that batteries interchangeable but for price you can get a flex cordless DA and PXE for about $100 cheaper during an Autogeek polisher sale.....

The video Adam`s made for their 2nd gen micro`s odd. When he`s doing the door handle it`s zoomed in and you can clearly see the pad completely stop rotating for like 4 seconds. Now I don`t know if this would be common on the rest of the micro`s. But showing a close up of it not working at all`s puzzling to me. Also a bunch of comments left brought up it stalling and I guess Adams is just okay with it because they didn`t delete the comments or at least respond with an answer.
