What IS Mequiar`s Mirror Bright line?

Can anyone explain to me why Mequiar`s has the Mirror Bright line? Who is the target for this line? Where does it fall in quality among the range of lines? Some of the Mirror Bright is cheaper than the "red bottle" line (as I call it). I have the QD and like it fine and appreciate the footprint and size of the bottle.

    Excellent question...

Meguiar`s is starting be be almost as bad as Crest toothpastes... 20 different toothpastes to "choose" from - no one really knows what the differences are or which is better for what...

Their marketing dept determined there is a decent percentage home/dyi long time buyers who would purchase this branding vs what most thought the regular packaging was to large or meant for full time users.
    Actually smart marketing move.

It sits between the ultimate line and the burgundy bottles.

Notice the Mirror line was not brought to market until a year or so after 3M bought Mequiars!

Re: What IS Mequiar`s Mirror Bright line?

I think this name goes back to the original name before Meguiar`s :Mirror Brite Polishing Co. in Nashville, Tennessee. Their products were know as Mirror Glaze.
(I am looking at my MG bottle from 1982 of M0416 Professional Automotive Cleaner compound with this information)

So the "marketing angle" is to appeal those of us Mirror Glaze users from long ago with a nostalgia look? The labeling sure looks like something printed in the 1940`s/1950`s.

This begs to ask: is the products inside the bottle re-branded (IE; identical to) from the Professional Mirror Glaze Line or the consumer line?. I will not make insinuations that it is because I do not know and you can darn well bet that Meg`s is not going to say so. They will "imply" (say) that the products are "unique" (IE, specifically made for) to the Mirror Brite line.

I will say this: Meg`s has specific car-care products for a wide range of detailing tasks and they are very affordable and produce good to excellent results for both professional and hobbyist detailer alike. It is one of the reasons I personally have and continue to use their products for many, many years across all their lines; Consumer OTC "Car Crazy", Gold Class, NXT, & Ultimate, Professional Detailer, and Professional Mirror Glaze.

I also like the fact that Megs has introduced 32-ounce bottles of Ready-To-Use (RTU) products from their Professional Detailer Line to appeal to more car-care consumers and hobbyist that were previously only available in gallon-jugs. You can see this discussion in the thread I started:
