Solution Finish - What`s your trim topper

Just checking in to see if there`s anything that may replace my top tier trim choice - Solutions Finish.
I`ve like the look of what I get out of it.

Have tried some trim coatings. Wasn`t crazed out it. Longevity was good, if not very good. Too much shine/sheen and also, I feel like when I topped the Solutions Finish with the coating, it went from a nice deep black to more of a muddled black/semi very dark gray.

mobiledynamics- I`d never even heard of Solution Finish until Ron Ketcham posted about it.

What don`t you like about it that you`re considering something else?

I`m assuming the Ultima Tire & Trim Guard Plus that I use isn`t of interest...

I have tried UTT years ago.....can`t recall, but wasn`t a fan. Ended up being donated.

I do like the SF. Just haven`t bought/tried any -new- trim products for quite some time so not sure if there are others that have trumped it.....

I second Wolfgang (WETS) or Mckees Plastic Trim Restorer... practically the same thing. Applies so easily and lasts months. Looks nice. If you have really wasted trim you can do SF first, but otherwise these two options will keep it looking new if used every few months.

You can coat solution finish? If I had to guess that`s your problem.

I really like the Pinnacle Black Label Ceramic Trim Restorer for faded black trim. Has a nice natural look, isn’t real finicky like I’ve heard Solution Finish is. I can’t speak for durability, it’s only been on three or four months so far.

How’s it holding up at this time? 3-4 months is the max I see my faves last in Pittsburgh weather.

It’s doing great. It hasn’t been through any tough weather though. Down here it’s the Texas sun that kills everything, not the snow, salt, and whatever else they’re putting on the roads.

The Adams Ceramic Trim Restorer is pretty nice. Can’t speak about durability.

While I haven`t used it, I`ve been hearing a lot of great things about Cerakote ceramic trim coat. I was pondering ordering Adam`s when I ran upon this. Lasts 2 years and is very cheap compared to everything else that lasts a year plus. I`d never heard of Cerakote but they`re big in making similar protection products for fire arms. So they`ve been around a long time.

I clicked on the youtube link Guz....I know seeing things over a screen vs. in person may differ to the eyes. In the videos, it does look like too my much gloss, which was my experience with another trim coating. I just like the black,--eggshell-- gloss one gets with SB. And a little (literally in words) goes a looong way.

Re: Solution Finish - What`s your trim topper

I haven`t been happy with the trim that I have re-dyed with SF and then applied a trim coating too afterwards. It would have either been DLUX or GTechniq C1. After the dye effect has worn off after a 12-18 months when you attempt to reapply SF to that trim it will absorb terribly because the remaining trim coating. It will look all blotchy. There`s not good way to prep for the trim coating removal except for time.

I keep it to WETS, M37 Trim restorer, UTTG afterwards or something similar since I learned that lesson.

Huh, OK...funny since it`s one product I simply love (though not as much as I did the v1.0).

Simple, when doing some testing for the owner of Solution Finish, used Wipe-New , worked great, holds up for the year of the test.
