Yes, a second battery is part of the Promo Kit.

I`ve never used my iBrid plugged in either. Kind of `kills` the whole micro polisher thing for me. Battery power has been plenty enough.

    Re: Adam`s Micro SK polisher

Mini review of the Adam`s unit:

Very similar feel to the Rupes, yes it`s not as `quality`, but as others said in this thread, it`s not a $500+ piece of kit. It has OK power on the lower settings...I`ve been running it wide open or almost (5) for most of my time with it and it is definitely on par with my iBrid, just a little `less`. Attachments work well, rotary and DA. Battery life has worked well for me and I seldom have to switch them out, just remember, I use this for the small areas and am not polishing a hood or anything with it. LOL

It`s louder than the Rupes, but we all should be wearing hearing protection.

Bottom line: We have all been waiting for a viable alternative to the iBrid, and in my opinion it has finally been released.

Hope this helps out a bit more!

SizzleChest- Hey, really appreciate your take on the Adams.

    Now I see it as a three-way between Adams/Flex/Rupes.

OOOH..v2.0 upgrades...maybe I`ll wait for a while. Perhaps by then the Flex (which generally appeals to more than the Adams) won`t be the Shiny New Thing at full-price

I`m not so sure. the "old" VRG 3401 used to sell for about 385$ - For the last several months the price has been 435$ - Even now, with the new 3401 version, both machines are priced at 435$ - perhaps that will change once it`s being sold off the shelves, and not on a pre-order basis.

    Re: Adam`s Micro SK polisher

just noticed that the adam`s micro has the trigger on the bottom side.

my rupes nano dropped off my cart onto the floor and splattered into a few pieces. i put it back together and put the trigger side on backwards. been using like that ever since and to be honest, i prefer it that way. i never understood the palm trigger...

JustJesus- Heh heh, I`m deliberately *NOT* gonna investigate what`s (presumably) better about the "new" Flex 3401 But hmm, maybe there won`t be some big price drop after all.

donbeezy- Yikes, sure glad the drop didn`t kill your Rupes! Sounds like it`s an all`s well that ends well regarding how you put it back together.

If I couldn’t afford a Rupes then this would be a nice alternative

    Re: Adam`s Micro SK polisher

And if you use Sizzle (option on their checkout page) it`s broken up into 4 $40 payments over 6 weeks. I know I`m kinda broke right now, so even $159 while a good deal, is out of my range. But $40 up front? I can swing that. Sizzle`s pretty nice, no interest and 6 weeks to pay it.

    Re: Adam`s Micro SK polisher

Just to add another data point. I bought one of these on Black Friday and so far the only thing I don`t like is that in rotary mode it will stop if it bogs down or runs too long on high speed or with pressure at lower speeds.

On speed 4 and 5 it will go for about 25 seconds then stops; It doesn`t do this in DA mode. I saw on YouTube this happened to other people as well so I assume it is done on purpose to keep consumers from burning paint.

Not a deal breaker but it is something to be aware of. Also the threading for the backing plate is different than the rules incase you were hoping they are interchangeable.
