I had preordered on a website that rhymes with kablamazon, was like 15 bucks if I’m not mistaken. There’s a $5 dollar rebate that came with it but the website isn’t working for me.

If you click on the Amazon link in the video`s YouTube page you can order but it doesn`t seem to be in stock yet.

I am needing a good spray sealant/LSP ASAP. And can`t decide on one. So I saw the video posted today and saw it was Amazon prime, so I wanted to order it and saw it wouldn`t ship for a while so I didn`t.

    New guy here.

Would this go on top of or as a base layer with other sealants and waxes?

Maybe someone here can correct me if I am wrong, but I would imagine since it`s an SiO2 product you would want to use it as a topper on other SiO2 based products or as a standalone. I could see some other SiO2 based spay top coats working to enhance it, but would defeat the purpose at the price point and ease of use of this.

I watched your video and it`s one of the main reasons I really want to try HCW.

Is it just me or is the beading not too impressive especially when compared to Hydro2? In the video the wheels didn’t even look protected.

That`s what I was thinking. In another video of a hood test with this product the beading look really good but I agree, I didn`t even really notice a difference on the wheels. I have a full gallon of Hydro Blue but still wanted to give this a try but reviewers seem to be having a mixed experience according to what I am seeing in their videos.

You are not the only one to not be impressed. The beading in Apex Detailing`s video looked rather unimpressive. Loach aka Wax Mode shows it well.

Here are a couple more videos and it does not look to promising for this product. At least in my eyes.

Re: New Megs hybrid ceramic wax.

I pulled everything out today with the pressure washer for more testing: HCW, Sonax Spray + Seal, Wet Coat, Hydro2 (1:6), Hydro Blue, Hydrosilex Recharge. HCW is the second weakest performing as a pure spray and rinse on a hydrophilic (ultra flat) water sheet. HCW is the best performing and yields the most hydrophobic surface out of all of them when sprayed on a hydrophilic sheet wet and wiped in with the microfiber (same as in my video), so like you would use as a drying aid, then rinsed immediately. We`re talking near BSD level beading and sheeting. Paint was prepped between uses with Meguiar`s Wash+, undiluted and heavily worked in to produce a hydrophilic sheet before testing each stage. Recharge is V1, I actually think this bottle may have gone bad, I remember it performing a lot better during my initial testing, it`s about 11 months old and had some pink gunk that`s attached itself all over the outside of the inner sprayer tube.

Below are the categories that I ranked from 1-6 (best to worst). Bolds are highlighted for the ties. (*) designates winner/loser by a long shot.

Spray Wet and Rinse off Wet:
    1. Sonax Spray + Seal
    2. Hydro2 (1:6)
    2. Hydro Blue
    2. Wet Coat

    5. HCW (*)
    6. Recharge (*)

Spray Wet and Wipe in Wet, Rinse:
    1. HCW (*)
    2. Sonax Spray + Seal
    3. Hydro2
    3. Hydro Blue

    3. Wet Coat
    6. Recharge

Spray Dry and Wipe in Dry, Rinse:
    1. HCW (*)
    2. Sonax Spray + Rinse
    2. Hydro Blue
    2. Hydro2
    2. Wet Coat

    6. Recharge

    Peak Hydrophobic Performance:
    1. HCW (*)
    2. Sonax Spray + Seal
    2. Hydro2
    2. Wet Coat
    2. Hydro Blue

    6. Recharge

Wipe on Wipe off Dry (ease of application):
    1. Recharge
    2. HCW
    3. Wet Coat
    3. Hydro Blue

    5. Hydro 2
    6. Sonax Spray + Seal (*)

I saw Brian`s video on the wheel and I would agree this unfortunately may be typical on a completely unprotected surface when HCW isn`t first wiped in to build the foundation layer. Dan Dan`s video I`m guessing has more to do with the surface not being polished enough to accept a good bond, which he could get with a wide variety of products and not just HCW. That could end up being a major problem for regular consumers though, my video with BSD highlighted this concept of the drastic difference in performance between BSD applied on a polished surface vs. a surface that was just clayed, neither of which most HCW users are going to end up doing prior to using it. Now I need to test once we have the foundation layer, how truly effective is the bond when sprayed and rinse wet without wiping with HCW during maintenance top ups? I need to wait longer for the test spot to diminish to test this further.

More testing to come, I think by themselves all of the other spray and rinse sealants are really close in overall performance with the exception of this bottle of Recharge.

Re: New Megs hybrid ceramic wax.

Ok so it needs to be buffed on for the first coat, then sprayed on for the next coat/layer and it does not hold up to a degreaser. Well at least it’s cheap and sheets instead of beads. Really can’t say I’m running out to buy this product. I can see Megs discontinuing this one fairly quickly as it is not easier than applying a wax. If it was just a spray and rinse like Hydro2 it would do better, imho. Any side by side product comparison videos out yet?

I know I won’t be looking to get this product. It’s a good start for Meguiar’s. Let’s see how the new Morhers spray coating does as Forrest has mentioned it to be a true coating.

Wonder if "Ceramic" will become the next "Teflon"
