    Meguiars M27 my initial thoughts

Had the opportunity to receive M27 last week. After an issue at the dealership I won’t go into, I needed to polish my car. So a polishing with Griot’s perfecting cream on a Rupes yellow pad, then wipe down with alcohol got it ready. Used the G9 and a black finishing pad on the large panels and hand applied on bumpers. They say it “self levels”, I say it disappears! It took a little getting used to but no major issues. Did the whole car, as the instructions say at least 2-5 minutes before wipe off, I gave it about 15 total. EXTREMELY easy wipe off of what I wouldn’t even call residue. It noticeably darkened the finish and is extremely slick. I generally do a final wipe with a detail spray dampened towel, but did not this time to see if any smearing or streaking occurs. None did. So we’ll see how it holds up. At this point it is the easiest Sealant type product I’ve ever applied and recommend you try it.

Thanks for sharing the application process. Car looks fantastic. I’m interested about dust attraction and self-cleaning... can you let us know?

After advising them the car was coated and not to wash it, which they didn’t, they wiped the handprints off with shop towels! The hood, roof and front fenders. Scratches all over. The answer from them and dodge was “ sorry “

Wow!! I’m learning that you can’t even tell them “Do not wash” anymore. The new request (which they will still screw up) should be more like “Please leave all dirt, even when you get dirt on it”.

Ok this is way over the top...but, I’m wondering if calling the police and getting a police report claiming they vandalized your vehicle, maybe things will start to change. I tell the service people under any circumstance are they authorized to touch the paint. They look at me like a crazy person, but after an explanation they are ok with it.

    Mike:
So this is your personal car? I noticed that ALL the badging/insignia`s have been removed from this Dodge black beauty. Talk about "stealth-mode". Can you fill me (us Autopians) what this exact model is and its specs??

I just want to thank you for taking the time and effort to use this new Megs M27 on your personal vehicle and posting your application methods and observations. When you say wipe off, what exact Microfiber (manufacturer-name or gsm weight) did you use to do so??

Looks great. That is most apparent in your signature "Maryland Merlin" photo of your bare deciduous trees in the hood.
if I tried that today (Sun, 09 Feb) in Northeast Wisconsin, it would be pure white: 7+ inches of snow with a Winter Storm Warning

Just an observation but your license plate has 1910 Vintage on it? Is that a unique or specialized plate for Maryland?? Love the "DTAILER" custom Plate Number-ID.

Thank you! It’s a 2013 RT 6 speed 5.7. The plate was a one year offering to celebrate the first tags in Maryland. As far as wiping off the very small amount of residue, I use towels in the 400 range.

Cheers Mike, thanks for sharing your results! How was the wipe-on by hand on the bumpers for you? I`ve noticed with the Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax it`s not as easily spreadable compared to the rest of the Meg`s lineup. Bit of a workout with the foam applicator, wipe-off is very good though. Wondering if M27 gave you different results, can`t wait to get my hands on this!

Went on easy and just disappeared into the paint. That’s what takes getting used to. Very little needed.
