Re: New Mothers CMX CERAMIC SPRAY COATING

Put the 2nd coat of CMX and CanCoat on earlier this morning. Will let it sit inside for 24 hours and then put it outside tomorrow. Supposed to be 60 degrees F tomorrow with 90% chance of rain so hopefully will get to see some natural water behavior.

CMX is a touch slicker, *seems* to have a bit more richness and depth to it v. CanCoat.

Re: New Mothers CMX CERAMIC SPRAY COATING

Got around to testing a few products today, Jescar Compound, Jescar Finishing polish, and Mother’s CMX. I did half of my test hood with TacSystems Moonlight and the other half with one coat of CMX.

The picture doesn’t tell you much, but the left side is Moonlight. Moonlight is a tad darker in person. CMX is a tad slicker. Application of CMX was a breeze, spray on, spread evenly, wait a minute, buff off.

I haven’t decided if I want to put another layer on tomorrow (directions state wait 24 hours) or not. Probably not as I want to see how long CMX lasts under worst case conditions.

Pollen hit us hard today. The car was covered in the yellow mess. It’s too early to deal with that mess.

CMX gets points for great looks, slickness, and cost, now let’s see the durability before crowning it king of the lite coating category.

Seeing the CMX review by Apex Detail makes me very intrigued about this new offering from Mothers. I wonder how well it would play with Essence?

I would imagine that it plays very well having a SiO2 anchor underneath. My understanding is that most any SiO2 products should enjoy being blanketed on the primer.

CMX & CanCoat in the rain...

And yes, many people stood in the warehouse door laughing as I stood out in the rain taking video of a hood...

Seems to be sheeting off or rolling off very well the CMX. That`s a strong behavior from CanCoat that is knowned. Maybe CMX can be giving it fight in the longrun too. Would be interesting to see the self cleaning ability from them after a couple of weeks.

Wonders if the Mothers CMX ceramic spray coating is going to be offered in Sweden? And what the price will be here too.

Is it also like the other Sio2 topper products that a little goes a long way with CMX too?

Honestly, when I first walked out there CMX side was shedding a bit more water than CanCoat...a bit heavier rain than the vid. Hadda double check original post to confirm which side was which.

Product usage was a bit less with CanCoat but nothing substantial. Given cost advantage of CMX, if it has the legs that CanCoat does, well...it might just be the real deal. Only time will tell.

If it has staying power of at least 6 months, it might just have a place on my shelf at work, refreshing coated vehicles at end of season. CanCoat has been excellent in that regard...the van I did in CSL and refreshed with CanCoat 9 months later has just been a killer combo.

I wish it would rain here. My cars are yellow with very thick pollen. It feels like April, not February. Making my eyes itch too.

Thanks for doing that haha. I also always run out when raining to see how my products are holding up.

Can someone also do the bic lighter test and the zippo test?

I kid I kid. Itll be interesting interesting to see how if pollen will rinse off or not.

Strip the protection off the windshield/windows of their van and let the wipers get dirty... who’s laughing now! New Mothers CMX CERAMIC SPRAY COATING
