Eh, what the heck. Hopefully actually doing a vehicle next week (unless life gets in the way again), may as well give it a shot.

Will likely blast outta foam cannon.

    Ordered.

I know some people use mild APC`s for this, wonder how this compares.

Sounds very similar to the Griot`s Foaming Surface Prep that just came out.

For those who don`t have time to click on a video, product description from the McKee`s site:

McKee’s 37 Coating Prep Auto Wash is a powerful detergent that strips remaining traces of previously applied waxes and sealants, leaving your vehicle squeaky clean for the next step in detailing. By breaking down old waxes and silicone oils, the next step you perform in the detailing process (clay, polish, coat) will produce superior results. McKee’s 37 Coating Prep Auto Wash is infused with highly refined alkaline detergents that effectively deep clean your paint without drying it out. Formulated without acids or phosphates, you can trust that Coating Prep Auto Wash is 100% safe for all exterior surfaces. This high-foaming formula encapsulates dirt and grit particles, helping to prevent wash-induced swirl marks and scratches.

Yeah, the price doesn`t seem that bad, depending on how much you use. I don`t see any instructions indicating what kind of dilution, if that`s even applicable to this type of product. I mean, Nick said it`s low viscosity so you can use it straight in a foam gun...I can see going through a lot product that way.

As far as removing old LSP I wonder how this compares to Purple Power Heavy Duty Premium Vehicle and Boat Wash Concentrate which has a PH of 10. Certainly something you`d only use before a major detail and only $7.84 per gallon (.06 per oz). Reports say it is a very slick soap and rinses well.

Nick surprised me with it the other day as it showed up at my mailbox. Didn’t ask for it.

Sent him a text thanking him and he pretty much said it’s a thank you for supporting him and the brand. Also no obligations to review.

We exchanged a couple more messages and he did say it is coating safe when I asked him. This is for those looking for a deep clean on coated paint a few months down the road.

I will use it in about 2-3 weeks when I will re-coat my daily. Also can’t comment on how it does removing old waxes since the family fleet has some kind of coating on it.

I’ll leave it to others to post reviews on it.

I hope it is a good product and actually works. I need to give this one a try along with the Poorboys product that removes old wax and sealants. Can’t be worse tha CGs Clean Slate garbage.

Re: *NEW* McKess 37 coating prep wash.

I just ordered a bottle to try... don’t do many traditional 2BM washes, but I need to strip the 2-year old coating off of my wife’s car, polish it, and re-coat.

Had always used the now discontinued CG Citrus Red, so I hope this is a suitable replacement.

Nick has done a good job of identifying the detailing areas with a “void” and then developing a product to fill the gap. Kudos to him on his business savvy.

Now if he will only get working on a replacement for my beloved (and dearly missed) BLACKFIRE All-In-One Trim & Tire Protectant!

    Directions for use:
For use with foam guns:Mix 2 ounces of McKee`s 37 Coating Prep Auto Wash with 6-8 ounces of water and shake well.

For use in buckets:Mix 2-3 ounces of McKee`s 37 Coating Prep Auto Wash for every 3 gallons of water. Activate with a strong jet of water.

Wash from the top down, rinsing often. For best results, dry vehicle after using a microfiber drying towel. We recommend The Guzzler Waffle Weave by Cobra for a water-spot free finish!
