Just curious if anyone has any experience with both or either one.

    3M Tire restorer.

    Duragloss tire and rubber dressing.

I like to try new to me products just like anyone. Seems the DG got many positive reviews.

I have never used the DG tire and rubber dressing but they make a solid line of products for fair prices. The car shampoo and Aquawax are quality products

I use 253 and 531 all the time with 253 having more longevity. 531 having a flat finish and 253 a little more matte although on some tires or to many coats of 253 will have some gloss.

I hate to sound like a h8r, but does 3M really have any item that is notable? Everything I`ve tried has either been hard to use, lackluster or both. The DG stuff is pretty good if you like a more natural tire look, and it ages gracefully.

I`ve not used 531, but have seen the same thing about 253. Use it too heavily or too many coats and it will get shiny. I`ve found 1~2 coats works just fine on most tires. Longevity, on average, will be 2~4 weeks for me depending on the tire and weather. I do appreciate the fact it will survive first contact with snow or rain.

    Hey, good Q!

Ultrafina was popular here a while back, and *way* back in the day their IHG, Showcar Paste Wax, and PI-II line (esp. 05933 and 05937..still remember those #s!) were good. But other stuff has eclipsed IHG for use on repaints and jobs where you need fillers, VOC regs messed with the Paste Wax (which never did last very long but was still nice), and abrasive tech seems to have passed 3M by lately (and I never did like the PI-300, or was it ?PI-3000?, line that replaced the PI-III).

Second use of #253 and I am hooked. I love this dressing. Leaves a perfect looking tire with one coat. I use the Speedmaster tire dressing applicator to apply it. It does indeed hold up to some moderate rain.
