No problems or issues with IPA. Was actually just thinking of a solution ratio.

Well boys, I might have caused more damages to the polished lips then good (read definitely did) lol.

I wanted to remove the final finishing scratches that were on the polished lips using just a MF towel and some Autosol.

Needless to say it looks foggy then it did before and now I need a way to bring the gloss back. I feel so dumb lol

About to coat the inside barrels with the sonax coating.

I doubt the hardware will be covered. There’s no way I’ll ever get the coating off!

I heard over on AG that the Sonax Rim Coat doesn’t last very long. Let us know your results.

Re: What to protect expensive multi-spoke wheels with? (CCW content)

Is the lip clearcoated aswell or polished aluminum?

If clearcoated treat it as paint. Mothers has some great polishing balls or cones and a drilling machine. If they are polished aluminum Mothers Billet metall polish or Mothers Mags & Alu would be a good choice.

Are you sure it`s micro marring or could it be that you didn`t get all of the Autosol off? Test with little of a waterless wash or a QD to clean it and see if it`s takes off the dried Autosol.

I’m almost certain it’s just polished aluminum.

    No clear coat.

The marring was induced by myself after using autosol via hand and a MF towel.

Are both the mothers products you mentioned capable of working via hand or do I need the powerball for the drill ?

Oh yeah..forgot about that (it`s been a while since I had wheels like that, and the maintenance is a big reason why).

Confirmed with the makers. The lip is polished aluminum. No clear.

The centres are powder coated clear!

The lips are easy-peasy to clean. The centres would be a night are if they were polished!

Now I need to fix my mistake on the polished lip

But won`t the portion of the lip where the fasteners are be a PIA?
