    First time FK1000P user-Questions

It’s on the way and I’m planning ahead.

As far as prep...I’ve got meguiars fast finish on the car now, so I’m guessing just a light polish and I’m good to go, correct?

As far as dry time before buffing off, suggestions or guidelines?

Lastly, I love drying aids. I ordered some 425, but any other favorites over this lsp?

Yeah, that should suffice. You *might* even be able to just apply the FK1000P over top of it...I`ve been surprised with how well FK1000P plays nice with underlying products, right off-hand I can`t think of any combo that didn`t work (but I didn`t try anything too weird either and I don`t know from Fast Finish).

Once it passes the finger-swipe test it`s ready to buff off. So generally IME longer is better and I`ve never had any problems from letting it set up for a good long time (like...I`ve gone in and had a meal before buffing it off).

I do a two-step buffing; first pass gets basically all of it off while the second is just a follow up. I always fog the surface with my breath during the second buff. If you need more than two MFs (i.e., one for each step) for say...a Suburban, IMO it`s a clue you used way too much.

Much to my surprise, I`ve found that I like Garry Dean`s IUDJ (mixed 2oz./gallon distilled water) even better than FK425. Absolutely perfect compatibility, better in all respects other than scent IMO. I might never buy FK425 again, probably won`t. Gee, wish I`d responded before you bought that FK425, but there`s sure nothing wrong with it (don`t use it over fresh waxes from other companies though, I had it *trash* a fresh coat of Collinite to where I had to strip/redo the car).
